Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the highly trained teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process. Children work in groups and individually to discover and explore knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential.
When you enter a classroom, you know that something is different .you can easily recognize Montessori classrooms . You will see children working independently and in groups, often with specially designed learning materials; deeply engaged in their work; and also they're respectful of themselves and their surroundings.
Reggio Emilia approach is based on the structuring education mentality instead of the traditional one. In this approach the education environment is designed to support socialization, artistic thought, creativeness and imaginative power. The educator is in the role of a guide and a learner for the children. With the project studies made by big and small groups, the children are allowed to obtain the information by themselves.
